Beautiful Dear
Climbing out of the shower,
brushing her shiny dark hair,
she winked at me and said—
"How do I look?".
And I said,
You look beautiful, dear.
Dressed in a dark suit for work,
glancing at her makeup in the mirror,
she turned to me and said—
"How do I look?"
And I said,
You look beautiful, dear.
Picking up the kids at school,
checking her buzzing phone in between,
she texted me to say—
"How do I look?"
And I said,
You look beautiful, dear.
Planning the dinner to eat,
rushing between to catch the news,
with tired eyes she turned to say—
"How do I look?"
And I said,
You look beautiful, dear.
Exhausted from the very long day,
she lay on the bed with arms around me.
Her silent eyes asked me again—
"How do I look?".
And I said,
You look beautiful, dear.
